Dear Division 56 COLLEAGUES,

I am thrilled to report that the 2022 APA Convention was a huge success! The theme of our Minneapolis program was Interpersonal violence across the lifespan. Our first in-person convention since 2019 was well attended, and our many programs and suite presentations and events were very well received. I would like to extend sincere thanks to my Program Chair, Dr. Jessica Punzo, who worked closely with me to create such a successful program, and who kept everyone informed of divisional and hospitality suite events and programming throughout the convention. Sadly, I was unable to attend the convention in person, and I also want to give many thanks to our president-elect, Dr. Dawn Hughes, who graciously stepped in to work with Jessica to keep things running smoothly; Dawn also gave my presidential address regarding the impact of the legal system’s treatment of trauma on our clients and on us as practitioners, as well as the critical importance of trauma informed forensic practice.
