Editor’s Note – Summer 2022

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

THE EDITORIAL TEAM & I WISH YOU AN OPEN-HEARTED WELCOME to the Trauma Psychology News Summer 2022 issue.

We close out June in honor of Juneteenth and LGBTQ+ Pride, Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness, and PTSD Awareness Month. And, to my dismay, global and domestic acts of systemic oppression persist, from the war in Ukraine to the astonishing repeal of Roe vs. Wade in the United States. These events seem to bring humanity backward in time. Yet, I believe that we—as members of the Division of Trauma Psychology—can propel us to where we need to go, as our Fall 2021 issue theme asserted. May the Summer 2022 theme, Human rights across the globe, remind us that there is still work to do and that we as trauma psychologists are invested and entrusted to do that work.

THANK YOU FOR READING THIS LETTER, for choosing to engage in these words at this time. I look forward to the opportunity to hear, share, and honor your stories in our co-created TPN space.
